While many people may have you believe otherwise, selling online is not an easy thing to do. Coming up with a great domain name, setting up your website, integrating the whole lot with a payment processor, getting inventory, handling shipping, the list goes on.

It is a great thing then, that affiliate selling came about. What this is is basically you referring customers to merchants. For example, if you point John to MerchantA.com, and John buys some products there, then you get a cut of the profits.

This obviously simplifies the whole process a lot, and allows you to concentrate on marketing. In fact, you might not even need a website to do this, as I will show you later.

What Do You Sell?

Affiliate networks like Commission Junction, LinkShare and Clickbank are one-stop shops where you can find thousands of products from different merchants to sell. In this manner, you will only have to sign up once and you can consolidate payments from different merchants in one cheque!

So sign up with one of these networks and look for products to sell.

Why Isn't A Website Needed?

While a well-designed and effectively promoted website is always better, it is optional for this method of affiliate marketing, because you simply use Google AdWords to generate relevant traffic to your affiliate links. In other words, you can link your AdWords ads directly to the linking URLs that networks like Commission Junction, Linkshare or Clickbank provide you with.

Signing up with Google AdWords takes only a few minutes and costs only $5 to activate. Don't bother about any promo codes that the sign-up process asks you for, because they have to be bought, so it isn't really worth it. Once you're done signing up, you can start creating your ads immediately.

AdWord ads are in this general format:

Ad Title
Description 1
Description 2
URL

A point to note is that AdWords has two parts to the URL portion. One URL is your display URL, which is the URL people will see appear on your ad. The other URL is your actual URL, which is where your users will go to when they click on your ad. So you can actually just put the web address of the company whose products you are selling as your display URL, and have your affiliate link as your actual URL!

Choosing Keywords

Great! Now you are ready for the next step, which is choosing the keywords that will trigger Google to display your ad. Choose keywords that you believe potential customers will use to search for your product/service. If you have a larger profit margin, you can bid for the more competitive keywords, but usually other just as relevant keywords may be less in demand and cost less. Don't worry about selecting keywords, because you can have a whole list of keywords to trigger your ad.

This list is not finalised and you can edit your keywords at any point of time. Also, Google works great with your advertising budget since it allows you to determine the maximum cost-per-click you are willing to pay, as well as the maximum daily amount you want to spend in your campaign.

Good luck!

Many people know how -- and do conduct themselves in the real world properly. However, many people are unaware that this same conduct needs to be applied online as well. Net etiquette is basically the rules you should follow while in Cyberspace. These seven rules are what I learned on my Cyber journey and what I try to follow while on the Internet ? let's see if you agree.

First and foremost, you must remember that even though you are sitting alone at your computer ? and no one is replying, say to your blog, does not mean they are not lurking (reading and learning but not commenting). Translated, there are real people reading what you are writing ? and if you make derogatory comments or accusations ? they will be felt by that person. If you do make derogatory comments or accusations ? please verify, verify, verify, verify ? this is libel.

Second, be ethical ? being ethical should not go out the door when you get into Cyberspace ? what applies to offline business and personal conduct, applies to online business and personal conduct.

Third, if you go into a forum it is advisable to take the time to do some lurking before posting. Learn the ways of the forum before posting. Some forums will not tolerate any advertising ? they are there to discuss their topic and to learn, and to share information.

Fourth, the Internet allows you anonymity, which means, you are not judged by the way you look or the clothing you wear. But you are judged on what you write ? that is the only way in which people can make judgments on you and your character.

Fifth, when writing on the Internet, be sure to check your facts. Research and verify before getting on your soapbox ? it can save you a lot of grief ? loss creditability. Remember, your writing is their first impressions of you.

Sixth, be kind and do not use offense language.

Seventh, share your knowledge and be open to learning from others.

I would like to conclude by saying that the Internet is a vast international community of people, sharing ideas, experiences and knowledge. It is a great community, yes, there are some bad eggs, but the community is ever vigilant and will alert all to the bad eggs. While on the Internet, be aware of your conduct, for that is how the Internet knows who you are.

It surprises me that many people fail to grasp this concept as they first set out to start their own businesses. Thanks to the power of the Internet, anyone who has a computer and an Internet connection can now START their own online businesses with little investment. However, generally speaking, it is a given that you have to invest money into your business to if you seriously want it to grow.

Affiliate marketing is a great way for ordinary people to start making money on the Internet. After finding an affiliate program that offers products you are interested in promoting, you can start an online business with just a website. So your total investment up to this point may simply be registering for a domain name and paying for a web hosting account.

But then what? You have to start marketing the products and getting people to your website! A lot of people are turned off when they discover that this is a demanding process that requires a substantial amount of hard work, time, AND money!

Let me give you a specific example. As all experienced Internet marketers know, "the money is in the list." Simply put, you want to build a mailing list of people who may be interested in what you have to offer.

One of the most effective ways to grow your mailing list is to use a pay-per-lead service where you PAY a company to bring targeted subscribers to you. The company will run an advertising campaign for you and deliver motivated, opt-in subscribers to your list. The cost can vary greatly depending on the information you require. The e-mail lead packages I have been using recently range from $.10 to $.35 per lead.

The best lead provider I have used is TrafficOasis. It provides targeted leads that are fresh, NON-SHARED, responsive, and affordable. If you who like to know more, check out its website: http://www.trafficoasis.com/index.php?118787

Other areas where you MAY want to invest money in include: logo design, web design, web promotion, and useful tools such as a graphics editor and a powerful autoresponder. However, there are plenty of free resources on the Internet and I encourage you to seek them out.

The saying, "You have to spend money to earn money," generally holds true for ANY business! An Internet-based business is no exception, whether your are promoting your own products or someone else's.

It is also important that you re-invest a portion of your profits into your business! That way, not only will your business continue to grow, but its GROWTH RATE will also increase! This in turn brings in MORE profits, which allows you to invest MORE into your business... Do you see a pattern!?

The key is to invest money into your business wisely while staying within your budget. If you believe in your business, you are bound to be successful!

To Your Success! Byron Wong

If you have been longing to start a business online you may be coming across terms you've never heard before. You may also have found the opportunities available are overwhelming. Where do you begin?

AFFILIATE PROGRAMS - EASY START

Affiliate programs may be the easiest online business to start running. Why?

With any online business you must have a product or service to sell. First you must create this product or service and then you must be able to fill orders.

Selling your own product or service also means creating a website, learning how to write ad copy, setting up a marketing plan, being able to accept payments online and obviously doing the work. If you're selling a physical product then you will need to make or buy the item, package it and pay for shipping costs. If you provide a service than you will likely have to start by doing free jobs to build your credibility and then when you are charging for your service you are still limited by how much work you can actually handle.

THE MAGIC OF AFFILIATE PROGRAMS

Affiliate programs are a great way to get started in an online business. In fact there are even some 'Super Affiliates' who are making fabulous incomes from affiliate programs. So, what ARE affiliate programs?

Affiliate programs allow you to sell another company's service or product and make a commission on every sale or lead. You do not even need to build a website or handle the transaction. Your job is to drive traffic (customers) to your affiliate link.

An affiliate link is a special URL code that will identify customers coming to the company's site from your advertising. It will likely be the website address with a code attached to the end.

Some affiliate programs also have tiers. That means if someone who is interested in SELLING the product comes through your link and signs up you will also get a small percentage of THEIR earnings.

HOW DO I CHOOSE A PROGRAM?

You should research the popularity of some of your interests. Try to determine if people are buying that product or service online. There are many sources for finding that information including free ones such as the Overture keyword tool.

When you have found an area that is popular then type the subject along with 'affiliate program' into your search engine and see which programs have services or products for that area. You can also use an affiliate program directory.

When you have found a program that looks interesting you should read the terms of the program. Make sure that payouts are not based on a high commission earning or you may never see your money. Also try to choose programs with high commission rates. Often you will find ebooks and downloadable software has the highest rates as there is no physical product to make or ship. If you are satisfied with the terms then you need to sign up - usually a simple process.

START MARKETING

The reason affiliate programs are so great for beginners is that you only need to focus on marketing - not making - your product.

Many affiliate programs have information on how to market and give you tools such as banners, product feeds and more. You can also look for other information on marketing including writing articles, creating pay-per-click campaigns, commenting in online forums etc. As you gain experience marketing you will make adjustments to your selling and start creating a wonderful income!

Affiliate programs are the latest money making tools available on the Internet. While there is definitely not a lack of options available, there is a lack of good options available.

Here are a few tips to help you get themost out of your affiliate program.

1) Be careful -

The biggest mistake most people make withtheir first affiliate program is that theyjump into the first one they come across, and expect huge profits. This is a big myth, and can be accredited to commercialadvertisements that make big promises thatthey can't keep.

2) Know what you're getting into -Do not expect to be able to quit your job,or get something for nothing. The field ofaffiliate marketing is getting more and morecompetitive each day. Affiliates want tomaximize their profits, and there are peoplewho are willing to work harder for less. You should be willing to bide your time.

3) Do your research -

Affiliate programs these days don't alwaysgive you the whole story, right away. Makesure you read through the fine print, so youdon't end up losing money.

4) Do not burn out -

Some people think that they're really smartby getting into three, or four affiliateprograms at a time, when in fact they end upmaking only a few bucks in each one, and notenough to get a payout in any of them! Startsmall- a couple of affiliate programs to beginwith, and if you can honestly say you're readyfor it, then pick up another affiliate.

These are just a few tips to get you started.Remember the most important thing you can dowith anything in life is to have patience!

Recruiting people for your business opportunity or paid program by promoting a referral link is an obsolete concept. The idea of making money through affiliate programs is brilliant and is possible, if done correctly. However, there are some severe problems with affiliate marketing. The major online companies give everybody the same site to advertise. The only difference to that site is the person who will get credit for the referral.

The company will tell you if you promote this affiliate link, you will receive a commission check. I know you have heard something like this: "The more cash you make, the more money we receive." By them just giving you an affiliate link, that last saying looks like this: "The more money you spend, the more money we receive." By companies improperly training you, they are ripping you off, which violate that major pillar to success, company integrity and management. That is not the only problem with affiliate marketing. When I release this secret people have been using to be productive online, these greedy online companies are going to hate me after letting the ferret out of its cage. The #1 thing affiliate programs fail to do is teach people how to brand their name.

Branding your name is so vital to your online success that it determines whether you are going to make a successful living or whether you are wasting your time online. So Mr. Wilson, what does branding your name means. Branding your name means establishing credibility and trust with your customers due to a product or service in demand that your have that your customers are in need for. Why do you think that artists such as Nelly, Eminem, and 50 Cent keep getting their songs played on the radio? These artists know that in order for them to keep having multi-platinum selling albums; they must make sure everybody hears their song. I know your next question is, "Mr. Wilson, how can I brand my name?

Here are some simple but yet powerful ways to brand your name:

1.Writing Articles. Writing articles is one of the most dynamic habits you can develop to promote any business opportunity or product that you have, especially on a zero budget! If you want to brand you name using articles, you want to write about something that you know about and something that is valuable to your readers. In other words, educate them. For example, Jon Olson, a hit exchange specialist has products for advertising such as the Hit Exchange Survival Kit and the Dr. Traffic Co-op. He does not instantly sell to people off the street, he does not know. He educates people by writing his newsletter, Hit Exchange News. When you write valuable content, you must add your personality into whatever you are writing because, not only do people want the truth, but also they want it in your own words. When you write valuable content and add your personality into it, your readers will be more likely to buy your products and services. Educate first and then sell. There are resources such as Ezine-Writer and Ezine Success.

2.Become A Heavy Participant By Joining Forums A forum is a place over the Internet where people post their thoughts on a topic and actually collaborate. Joining online forums such as the Net Marketing Forum and the JoeShmo200 Internet Marketing Forum is a great start. What makes the difference is how much you participate in the forums. Let people know that you are serious about your online business by participating in discussions, asking questions, and bringing up topics of your own. If you do not participate in the forums on a regular basis, you are burning your bridge by showing laziness on branding your name somewhere. Branding your name in the forums is very easy and once you get started, it will take you a long way.

3.Splash Page. A splash page is a customized, instant-loading webpage that promotes your paid affiliate program. The purpose of having a splash page is to grab an individual's undivided concentration and see if they notice something different. Having a splash page is a good start, but how do you brand your name using a splash page? The way to do that is to put any of your personal pictures on the splash page so that people not only remember your articles, but remember your face. In addition, what would help your splash page is putting your contact information on the splash page because people may contact you if they have a question. Make sure you are of help to that person who contacts you because some companies are too busy trying to get more and more referrals.

If these companies start teaching people their affiliates to brand their name, they will be in business longer and be more successful. When they rip people off and focusing on fast cash, they are setting themselves up for bad publicity like Enron. I hope these solutions help your and your business. Can you afford to go back to an unrewarding, insecure workforce?

The Internet is powerful selling tool. Never before has been easier to start a business ,be able to reach out to literally millions of potential customers and make your business succeed. Yet time has taught us that there is much more to success that simply having a website or using these tools.

A lot of money can be made by promoting product and service through website ,however in order to promote them effectively you will need to be committed to making it work.

Most affiliate program will give us a unique URL ,though these methods work ( especially ezine advertising ) they are limited to how long the ad stays visible. We can not generate long term promotion by just submitting ads using that URL.

A website of our own. Promoting affiliate programs whether it be mlms or any other affiliate program where you are given a unique URL is limiting without a website of our very own. There are literally thousands of ways to promote if we have our own website. Therefore it is imperative that you decide how serious you are about your business and to what level you wish to take your business.

That's why we're devoting this issue to giving you the top six tests you can run on your web site right now. These tests are quick and easy to implement and can start increasing your sales by 400%... 700%... even 1,000%... in less than 48 hours!

Bottom line... testing is the ONLY way to discover what works --and what doesn't -- on your web site ,and it's the BEST way to start increasing your sales exponentially.

And if you take the plunge and test even just one of the following six things ,you'll learn just how true this is... especially when you start seeing a dramatic improvement to *your* bottom line!

Test #1: Offer ONE product or service on your homepage.

We've found that offering fewer products in one place with more copy describing those products ALWAYS translates into higher sales. It's all about focus. Instead of trying to please *everyone* who visits your web site by offering a large range of products with minimal detail about each one ,if you offer just one product (or one set of related products) ,you can really focus on one key set of benefits and answer *all* of the possible questions and doubts your visitors might have about your product.

And you don't have to stop selling your other products -- you can always offer them to your customers from other web pages or by using follow-up offers .

Test #2: Reposition your opt-in offer to BOOST your opt-ins and build a bigger list of loyal subscribers.

Your opt-in offer is your tool for gathering your customers' e-mail addresses. In exchange for their address ,you might offer them a free report containing valuable information or a regular free newsletter. Your opt-in is your mechanism for building your e-mail list , which allows you to regularly keep in touch with your subscribers ,build relationships of trust and loyalty ,and sell them your products or services.

Test placing your opt-in in the "first fold" of your salesletter -- the area of screen first visible to a visitor before they scroll down the page. If you have a long salesletter ,you should test placing it within your second "page" of text -- after you've grabbed your visitors' attention by identifying a problem they have and established your credibility by impressing them with your credentials , experience ,and glowing testimonials from happy customers.

You should also test placing your opt-in offer on EVERY page of your web site so it's always in front of your visitors ,and try using a "hover ad" (see below). The more sign-up opportunities you provide, the more subscribers you're likely to get. Test it and see!

Test #3: Add impact to your promotions with "hover ads"

I'm sure everyone's familiar with pop-ups. They're the small windows containing a special offer or other information that sometimes "pop up" when you visit a web site.

Love them or hate them ,pop-ups have been a very useful online marketing tool for years. However, because a percentage of Internet users disliked them ,Google ,AOL ,Netscape ,and others developed pop-up blocking software to combat them But that was before we discovered a very impressive technology that actually lets you use ads that BEHAVE like pop-ups ,but that are NOT pop-ups -- so they don't get blocked. They're called "hover ads" and they're well worth testing on your site.

In fact ,when we tested adding a hover ad to our site ,sales increased by 162%! They're effective because they put important information, such as your opt-in offer or a special time limited promotion ,right in front of your targeted visitors.

Test #4: Establish a problem in your copy and show how you

can solve it.

In the first couple of paragraphs that appear on your homepage ,you need to go into more detail about the problem you introduced in your headline -- showing your audience that you relate to them. (Only when your audience feels you understand their problem will they feel confident that you can solve it.)

Once the problem is established ,you can then begin introducing your product or service as the solution to this problem. By emphasizing exactly *how* your product or service will solve the reader's problem ,you are guaranteed to see a boost in sales!

Test # 5 :Focus on your readers... not yourself.

The most successful salescopy focuses on the reader. Too often ,business owners neglect this simple golden rule.Look carefully at your salescopy. Is it filled with references to "I," "me," and "we"? Instead of using sentences like ,"I designed my time-management software with the busy homeowner in mind ," try "Your new time -management software will free up hours of time for you to spend with your family." See how much more powerful that is? Try searching on "I," "me," and "our" in your salescopy and replace them with "you" and "your."

It's very important that your salescopy instills a sense of urgency in your visitors ,compelling them to buy NOW. The best place to do this is towards the end of your salesletter ,near the call to action (when you ask for the sale). Here are a few of the most effective ways to create a sense of urgency. Try testing each one against your current copy:

- Offer a limited-time price discount offer where

visitors must buy before a certain date in order to

qualify for the discount.

- Offer additional bonuses for free if they buy within a

certain time frame.

- Offer only a limited quantity of your products or

services.

Test #6: Boost your product's desirability by adding images.

Images of your products make them seem more tangible and "real" to your visitors and are a powerful sales tool. In fact ,our testing shows that you can increase sales by more than 10% just by adding product images. But sometimes revealing what the product is too early in the sales process can kill the sale -- you may need to highlight the product benefits and value before you reveal exactly what it is. Test placing images near the top of the page against placing them near the call to action at the bottom (where you're asking for the sale). You should also test adding images to your order page ,and test the response to using no images at all. By carefully analyzing sales during each test ,you'll learn exactly whereto place product images for maximum impact.

Not all Home Business Entrepreneurs are experienced enough to produce their own product, so most of us 'would-be-entrepreneurs' become affiliates, marketing someone else's products and opportunities. That is nothing to be ashamed of. Lots of people make a really great living doing it, and so can you.

Being a Work at Home Business Entrepreneur is not as easy as it first appears. Don't get me wrong, it is not that difficult either. As the saying goes "anything is easy if you know how". The BIG secret is learning "how to market" on the Internet.

Internet Marketing is a little different to marketing offline. You sell your online products and opportunities from an electronic store called a website. When you open a store in a Mall or in a busy town you can rely on walk-in trade who see your goods through the shop window and want to buy. With a website store, the concept is a little different. You have to take your store or its products and place it where the people are likely to be - traffic exchanges, safelists, search engines, electronic magazines etc.

Selling your affiliate products should begin even before the customer clicks on your affiliate link or the banner on your web site. Don't only rely on placing a banner on your web site with the hope that someone will click on. It may work a few times but it is not the best way to produce good results. The best results are achieved when the customer is already sold on your product before he clicks on your affiliate link. Write a good ad copy that does not obviously seem like you are selling your product. Entice the customer to click on your link with words that would make you want to buy the product, or join the opportunity yourself.

Use the products you plan to promote yourself so you can market them enthusiastically and do not be afraid to use testimonials from enthusiastic customers. They work wonders!

Concentrate your efforts on choosing a few good affiliate programs and marketing them effectively. Choose a program with products or services that interest you. Do not be lured into signing up for numerous affiliate programs in the hope that one of them will make money. Choose wisely and try not to get involved in selling things you know nothing about.Don't try to sell heavy duty equipment if you know what HGV stands for. Go with your passion, your enthusiasm will grab your client by the nose and lead him/her to your affiliate link.

When you have chosen your affiliate company, build a site to market the products and programs you've chosen. Choose a name that is relevant to your affiliate program and the products you plan to sell. If your site is built to sell craft items then selling car parts on it is not a good idea. It would be far better to include a short course on how to make craft items. Keep your site relevant!

Read everything you can about your products and research them thoroughly so you can answer all the questions you get asked either by the people signing up under you or your customers. Look around for other items to sell or give away that will enhance the products or services you sell. If your main focus is affiliate marketing you could include products and free gifts and e-books that will help with marketing the products you sell.

Create a catchy signature to use each time you send out your mail, you never know whose interest it might stimulate. Don't forget to include your affiliate links in all your outgoing mail. Market, market and market your products some more. Think about what your target audience is looking for and keep it in mind always.

After having chosen several programs to join, you probably realize that customers won't knock on your door - you have to come to them. By promoting your affiliate programs successfully, you build your own success!

So what should you do to promote your affiliate programs? Here are five methods which have succeeded for millions and can succeed for you, if you choose to follow the same steps as those millions before you!

#1 Create your own marketing affiliate program materials.

Many people use the marketing materials provided by the program they signed up for. Guess what? Thousands of people are using those same materials, those same ready-made websites and those same advertisements. People are easily bored and those ads get old really, really fast. Create something brand new and all your own!

* Create your own promotional website instead of using a stale, pre- packaged website. This is not very expensive and the returns can be huge!

* Create your own brochures and pamphlets. Whether using email or mailing materials to prospects in the old-fashioned way, be sure your material is fresh and new.

* Create compelling business cards. The business cards you hand out to contacts that you network with should also be fresh, new, and cause the person reading the card to feel compelled to contact you. A simple byline such as "Information on Becoming an Overnight Success" can be all it takes to make that person call you for more information.

* Write original articles and submit for publication to ezines for exposure of your fresh material.

#2 Generate Leads from an Opt-In Email List

Sure, you can buy names from email lists, but are those people even interested in the type of product you have to offer? Probably not! Create an opt-in mailing list by allowing prospects who come to your website to choose to receive a free newsletter. This gives you the opportunity to include information in the newsletter about your products. Why is this the best way?

* Allows contact with people who have at least some interest in the product you are promoting on your website

* Generates mailing list for future products you may promote

* Saves tons of money compared to buying mailing lists!

After all, think of all those flyers that come in the newspaper. What do you do with them? If you are like most people, you throw them away because they don't pertain to you. If all the flyers in your newspaper were placed there because you, personally, had expressed interest in them, you probably would read them all! This is the difference between random mailing and mailing to prospects that share an interest in your product type!

#3 Network, Network, Network

Never miss an opportunity to network with others who may have an interest in your products, or even be interested in joining the affiliate program under you.

* Share your own success story with others you encounter. Many will be interested in joining you in your endeavor.

* Offer to mentor new prospects to ensure their success.

* Exchange business cards and make follow-up calls to encourage them to talk with you further about your programs.

#4 Use Blogs to Promote Your Programs.

In the past year, blogs have become extremely popular. You can use this forum to your advantage in promoting your affiliate marketing programs.

* Generate top-quality content to place on the blogs.

* Be sure that the blogs you choose are not over saturated by affiliate marketers already. Locate fresh blogs to use in your promotions.

* Content should compel the reader to action. Make them HAVE to check out your program.

#5 Use banner exchanges to your advantage.

Most marketers know that banner exchanges can help them promote their products, but there are a few tricks to success.

* Make sure your banner is placed on sites that will attract the same client base that will desire you product.

* Create attractive and compelling banner content. Plain-Jane banner ads won't attract, those that send acompelling message to act will!

* Always look for new places for your banner to appear. Don't become complacent because you have three or four sites showing your banner. There are new websites every single day!

These five tips will help you successfully promote your affiliate programs. There are many other ways to promote products, but these are proven to work for people who dedicate themselves to ensuring their programs get the necessary exposure to succeed.

When a newbie begins an online business, the temptation can be high to join most any affiliate program they see in the hopes of making extra money. Given the amount of products and services that newbie get presented with, and since newbie have a burning desire to make money fast, it is easy to see how the online newbie can get lured into joining a lot of affiliate programs without knowing if they should join them or not.

For the newbie, the danger in joining lots of affiliate programs is multi-faceted. Joining affiliate programs takes time, time the newbie could be using defining their USP, learning about getting targeted traffic, or learning other Internet marketing skills that will actually generate revenue for them. In addition, the newbie who joins lots of affiliate programs in the hopes of making instant profits, is at risk of being disappointed when they don't make money by joining the latest affiliate program and that leads to yet further "unproductivity" and poor use of time.

So, what steps do newbie take to identify the best affiliate program(s) that matches their USP?

1) Define how the affiliate program's offering complements your USP.

You should be able to clearly map out what the affiliate program's offering (product or service) will be useful to patrons or visitors of your web site, list or customer base.

2) Make sure that you fully review the product offered by the affiliate program, use it, and make your own assessment of it.

Don't promote a product from any affiliate program unless you own the product yourself and love it. If you own and love the product that you are promoting, you will be able to sell it more effectively because your energy and excitement level will show through in the deliver of your message to would be customer.

3) Make certain that the web site that sells the affiliate program is set up correctly to sell the product, and sell it well.

The web site that sells the product of the affiliate program should be professional in its layout, design, sales copy, and delivery of the product itself. The web site should have a mechanism to capture the names and emails of the visitors. The web site should also have a strong auto responder series in place to follow up with and sell the visitors of that site on the product.

4) Check to see if the affiliate program should be tracked with cookies so that the referring web site will get credit for each affiliate sale, even the sales that come as a result of the auto responder series.

If the affiliate program doesn't use cookies to track referrals, do not sign up.

5) Pay Per Click Ads

Pay Per Click Ads are a very popular way of promoting affiliate programs. You bid on a keyword, use your text ad and pay the amount you have bid on when someone clicks on your ads. Overture is the most popular, but also one of the most expensive. Use your search engine to do a search to find a ppc that fits your budget.

6) Article Writing

Writing articles is a good way of advertising your affiliate programs for free. Write an article about something relevant to your business opportunity, and place your affiliate website url in the resource box at the end of your article. If the reader has enjoyed your article they may click on your link and you have a potential customer.

7) E-Zine Advertising

E-zine advertising is also a very good way of advertising your affiliate programs. Internet marketers with huge list will sell you space in their e-zine for you to advertise. Prices vary depending on the number of people subscribed to each person's list. You can normally find marketers willing to sell you advertising space in ezine directories.

If you truly want to generate sales, one great way to do so is to create separate web pages for each of your affiliate products and include reviews of each product. Pictures, of course, speak a thousand words, and a picture of each product is very important to closing the sale.

Why does this process work so well? It's simple; people want to see and know all about a product before the pull out their credit card! Here are some points to be sure to include in your affiliate product review pages:

* Always have an uncluttered web page with blocks of text that are easy to read and understand. If you crowd a great deal of information, few people will read all of it. It has been scientifically proven that most people read only about one-third of the information contained in any sales page or review. So, make your web page product review easy to scan and grab specific points from without reading every single word.

* Use highlights to call out specific important points. Again, this goes back to the fact that few people will read all the words. If a specific area is highlighted in yellow or another bright color, their eyes will be drawn to that specific region and that may be all that they read. If you can convince the reader with you highlighted section that they simply MUST know all about this product, then they will probably read more. If you do not grab their attention with compelling information, they will probably continue to another web page.

* Specific benefits to the reader must be described in very few words. Tell the reader exactly what the product will do for them and call them to action!

* Please graphic help attract a person to spend a moment looking at your page. A boring page, in terms of graphics, will probably not hold the reader's attention long enough to even get them to read the highlights, much less the sales information.

* Focus on compelling, eye-catching headlines for each page. If your review begins with a bang, then people will read more of the text. A headline such as "How Product XYZ Saved My Life - And Can Save Yours, Too" will generate more readers than a headline such as "Product XYZ Works Great".

* Never produce web page affiliate product reviews that are totally essay-style. Remember; make the page so that the reader who simply scans will pick up enough information to compel them to read more.

* Make the reader have to take an action to get more information. The more a person becomes involved with a product review page, the more likely they will follow all the way through to the payment process and complete the sale. A short poll, a signup for a free report, anything that makes the person provide input can get them involved enough to follow through. Think about Publisher's Clearing House; they always make you participate to fill out an entry form. Use the same concept but apply it to your affiliate product review pages.

* Keep the page short! 500-600 words are enough to convey almost any concept you wish to send. No one wants to read on and on and on without gaining truly new information. Shorter is often better than longer. The European style seems to be, of late, a long, long web page, but many Americans just won't stand for scrolling down over and over to get to the prize!

* Be sure you are providing good information that the product you are promoting will actually provide. There is no need to tell "fish tales" to make a sale. A good product, where only the facts are provided in the review, will sell itself!

These few points can make your affiliate product review pages stand out among the crowd. And there is a crowd, so you have to work hard to really stand out. It is worth the time and effort in sales you will generate!

Incentive Marketing, Incentive Marketing, Incentive Marketing?

It doesn't matter that there are potentially thousands of other affiliates promoting the same program because from today onwards you are going to create an unfair advantage. Today you are going to learn some of the skills to becoming a SUPER INCENTIVE MARKETER.

And to be a SUPER INCENTIVE MARKETER you need to create an UNFAIR ADVANTAGE.

The advantage that is EXCLUSIVELY available through you, and ONLY you. I'm talking about the advantage that can't be found anywhere else. An advantage that if they want to buy the product because of what you are offering, they have to buy EXCLUSIVELY through you.

For those who are getting lost, let me give you an example from the real world.

Two weeks ago I was looking for a DVD/Karaoke player. My requirements were simple; I just had one criteria, ? cheap. I found two players, from two different suppliers that fit my criteria, which were exact in every way.

EXCEPT?one supplier decided to create their own UNFAIR ADVANTAGE by offered a free microphone and a couple of free DVD Karaoke discs.

Now of the two suppliers, which one would you have chosen? And on that note I need to mention here that what works in the real world, works in the cyber world.

Today, right now in fact, you need to make a list of unique and exclusive advantages why the average Joe Schmo should order through YOUR affiliate link and not one of your competitors.

It is time to think outside the square?.and let me tell you, you don't need a lot of money to create that UNFAIR ADVANTAGE. To start the creative flow of ideas, let me suggest something, that you, yourself, are a hot commodity, you're unique, you have exclusivity over yourself. Think outside the square.

Ok, now the rest is up to you. Watch out for PART THREE of this SIX PART series.

I'll leave you with the saying. If you continue to do what you have always done, you will continue to get what you've always got.

To Your Online Success!

Thinking Outside the square is where we last left off. So to carry on from this topic let me introduce you to M.E. Software.

It's a must have, for any Affiliate, promoting any program. Without this critical piece of software in your operations, your goal at making money online will fail.

OK, now that I have made that clear let me tell that the M.E. software is 100% free. No downloading is required but installation is VITAL.

You're confused now aren't you?

What type of software requires no downloading, but has to be installed and is 100% free?

Software needs to be downloaded onto a server or a personal computer, right? Not necessarily but, enough with the questions I'll just get to the point.

M.E.. Software without the full stops = ME SOFTWARE.

That's right ? it's all about YOU.

By reprogramming some of your thought patterns and learn how to utilise your best asset ?YOU, brilliant things will start to happen.

At this point I want to remind you that I am not into GET-RICH-QUICK anything, in order to create sustainable income online and offline you need to cover what I call my 4 point process which I will cover Part Four to Six.

The 4-point process is:

oVisualiseoStrategiseoEnergiseoRealise

These points need to be programmed into your thought patterns. Without it, and without a doubt, you will not succeed.

Let's take a proactive step forward and look at your FINANCIAL GOALS.

The very first thing you are going to have to do IS SET A GOAL. I anticipate the fact that you want to speed along because you have things you would like to pay for. I can assure you that THE FASTEST WAY is to follow every instruction. Choosing to race off as most people tend to do will only slow down your progress and hinder your results.

Make your financial goal reasonable and achievable (just so you know this is the reprogramming part). When you have done this it is time to set out a PLAN.

When you start to plan you have to be mindful of what is wishful thinking and what is achievable. Planning does not work effectively with WISHING ? these two things are totally incompatible.

If you can see that in the past your goals have been wishful thoughts. That in a way is a good thing because you have identified this. Now you need to reprogram those thoughts to make different decisions that will produce better results.

Today, you need to install the M.E. Software, and you will see that slight changes in making different decisions can produce amazing results.

To Your Online Success.

VISUALIZE, STRATEGIZE, ENERGIZE, REALIZE reprogramming is the subject today.

Every single successful person in the cyber and real world practice these principals, this is what sets them apart from everyone else and this is what will set you apart from every other AFFILIATE.

A wise man once told me that there are three different kinds a people.

?Those who WISH things would happen

?Those who WATCH things happen

?And those who MAKE things happen

The successful Affiliate's are always those who make things happen. And to start this end the Affiliate needs to first VISUALISE. At the risk of making this article sound like a lot of quotes ? there is another saying that goes "If you can see it you can achieve it".

The most successful people in this world take time to visualise what the goal looks like. What you would look like in that brand new car, what that new house looks like - right down to the door handles, what those bills look like with a huge red PAID stamp on them.

A great Affiliate will make this vision specific to their FINANCIAL success. Can you visualise yourself making $20, $50 even $100 a day (my recommendation is a minimum of $100 a day). Whatever your FINANCIAL target, you must input it into your thinking and allow it to settle. This process may take a day or more before you begin to believe it.

If you find that you have difficulty in VISUALISING this goal, you need to STOP, go back and visualise a goal you can achieve.

When you lose the VISION, you lose your confidence; you will then find it difficult to follow through on any decisions you will need to make to continually generate income in turn making success much more difficult.

IF you don't believe you can achieve making a $100.00 a day, you really need to wait until you can BELIEVE IT.

In making the commitment to your choosen income level, you are making a decision that will change your life PERMANENTLY so chose wisely.
