When you are away from home in a different climate your hair will be subjected to weather it is not used to.

Your hair needs to be protected in the same way that you do with your skin. UV rays are very harmful to your hair affecting the pigment, strength, shine and vitality.

For your skin you take with you cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen and after-sun lotions so for your hair take shampoo, conditioner, hair sunscreen and styling products.

Cold Climate

1.Cold temperatures weaken your hair and susceptible to damage. Flyaway hair tends to be subject to static. Hair should be well conditioned and protected by wearing a hat.

2.If you have frizzy hair use a leave-in conditioner and take a deep moisturizing mask with you on holiday. All hair types will benefit from using a heat protection spray and serum to keep the elements out and keep the moisture in.

Humid climate

3.Hair expands just like it does when it is wet in a humid climate. This will make your hair fluffy or if it is curly, frizzy.

4.For all hair types, a pre-holiday deep conditioning treatment is a must to nourish the hair and seal the cuticles, as you want to prevent excess moisture from entering the hair shaft.

5.If you have fine hair use a light leave-in conditioner from mid-way down the hair to the ends and use a serum to seal the ends after blow-drying, being careful not to overdo the serum on fine hair.

6.If you have curly and/or frizzy hair then you need to seal the cuticle (the outside of your hair) to minimize the additional frizziness that results in humid weather.

7.Use a leave-in conditioner very morning. Use an anti-frizz serum to coat and seal the cuticle.

Hot and dry climate

8.The sun strips the hair of its natural oils and dry heat increases this effect. UV rays attack your hair and the resulting free radicals damage the hair. The weakened cuticle causes the hair to become dehydrated, allows the bleaching and fading of the color pigment as well as split ends.

9.To protect your hair 100% from sun damage wear a hat!

10.Deep conditioning your hair before your holiday is essential.

11.If you have fine hair use a wash your hair with a gentle shampoo and use a light leave-in conditioner with UV protection. Use a sun-protection spray containing a UV filter to screen your hair from the effects of the sun and seawater and re-apply after going in the sea.

12.If you have curly hair use a moisturizing shampoo and a leave-in conditioner to minimize dryness. Apply a nourishing hair mask whilst you are away to deep condition your hair. Use a sun-protection spray containing a UV filter to screen your hair from the effects of the sun and seawater and re-apply after going in the sea.

13.If you have frizzy hair use a sun-protection spray containing a UV filter to screen your hair from the effects of the sun and seawater and re-apply after going in the sea.Use a rich leave-in conditioner with UV protection each morning and apply a hair mask every other day during the holiday.

14.When you have been swimming in the sea always wash the salt out afterwards.

15.Chlorine from the swimming pool is extremely damaging when combined with the effects of the sun, wet your hair in the shower before hand and protect your hair with a leave-in conditioner preferably one containing a UV filter. Wash your hair thoroughly after swimming.

16.Hair grips and bands are an extremely useful item to have on holiday and offer a quick-fix solution for hair care problems.

17.Don't forget your travel plug to ensure that you can still use your hairdryer and other electric hairstyling equipment whilst abroad.

Bon Voyage!

These tips assume that you are going to be using your regular hairdresser to plan your style and on your wedding day. However if you plan to style your hair yourself, you can easily follow the same timetable and I have added some extra tips for you.

1.Plan! Plan! Plan! The earlier you start to plan the better. This gives you the chance to get your hair into the best condition possible and to have practice runs with your hairdresser trying out different styles and colors as well as trying out veils, tiaras and flowers. Ideally start this process 6 months before.

2.Collect pictures of possible hairstyles from all different magazines not just wedding magazines and discuss them with your hairdresser at least 4 months before your big day.

3.Each time you go to the hairdressers to try out a potential wedding day style take photos to help you remember what you liked about it for future reference and take someone with you whose opinion you can trust.

4.Make the most of what you've already got, maximize your good points rather than going for a look that isn't really you.

5.Start weekly conditioning treatments at least 3 months before your wedding.

6.Give you hair a break from harsh styling methods and equipment; this will help with getting your hair in tip-top condition.

7.If you are having flowers in your hair have a trial run with your hairdresser a couple of months before and make sure you have your appointment booked for the wedding day.

8.One month before have a trial run with your veil/ tiara and finalize with your hairdresser the style you have decided upon.

9.If you are having an updo on the day, wash your hair the night before as just-washed hair can be harder to manage.

10.Make sure you have an SOS kit on your big day, which you can give to the bridesmaid with the biggest handbag! - Plenty of hairgrips and pins in a matt color in a shade similar to your hair, hairbrush, tail comb, hairspray and shine spray.

Extra tips if you are doing your hairstyling yourself

1.As well as planning your style in the months before your wedding you need to try out various styling products so that you can be confident that the ones you are using on the day will make your hair look it's best.

2.To avoid your hair being flat use most styling product on the roots.

3.Hair products from the same range are designed to work together.

4.Have a trial run with your veil and tiara on the style you have chosen. To fix them into your hair, use clear combs and matt grips in a similar shade to your hair. If it's practical, keep them in your hair for a few hours to make sure they have staying power and to avoid having a slipping veil and tiara on the day.

Last but not least relax and enjoy your day :o)

Fashion Wigs - Change Your Image in Seconds!

Do you want to be a blonde one day and a redhead the next? One way to do this is to dye your own hair and restyle it, but you can achieve the same effect with much less effort - just buy a wig. To select a wig that would be indistinguishable from real human hair and become your favorite fashion accessory, though, you need to know a few insider tips.

First of all, if you're worried that a wig will not look natural on your head, never fear! A properly made wig - even the quality synthetic varieties - can look totally realistic.

Which is best - synthetic or human hair wigs?

Wigs can be synthetic or made from real human hair. Synthetic wigs are cheaper, but the very cheap ones you can find online don't look real enough. On the other hand, high quality synthetic wigs like Revlon, Raquel Welch or Paula Young wigs look very real. Also, synthetic wigs are easier to care for, as you don't need to restyle them every time you wash them.

Real human hair is in limited supply, so human hair wigs are much more expensive; typically they several hundred dollars. Human hair wigs look and feel very natural. However, it is important to know that the quality of your wig depends on the origin of the hair used. The cheapest hair comes from Asian countries, but their texture is different from the hair of European women. The best human hair wigs are made from European hair but, unfortunately, they cost a small fortune.

What wigs styles are available?

You can get ¾ wigs as well as full wigs. A full wig covers your entire head, so none of your own hair is visible. This type of wig is great when you want to try a color different from your own.

A ¾ wig is clipped to the top of your head. Because your original hairline is visible, the wig looks very natural. Also, your head doesn't get "toasted" under a wig cap. On the downside, though, three quarter wigs have to match your hair color very closely, otherwise it won't look convincing. It is best not to buy this type of wig online because the colors on the color charts are usually not very accurate.

A very interesting style of wig is the headband wig. A headband wig is a full wig with a headband attached to its front. It is especially useful if you are always in a hurry, because the headband ensures that none of your own hair is visible. This style is recommended if your natural hair is a dramatically different color from the wig.

Wigs come in all shapes and styles - from very short to 30 inches long, in straight, curly, wavy, braided, layered, spiky or 'the wet look'. It is important that you look at many styles before you decide which one your heart desires.

It is a good idea to have your wigs customized, too. If you can find a hair salon that can trim your wig to make it fit your face shape, go for it. Customizing a wig isn't cheap, of course, but it will make your new wig look more realistic and suitable for your face.

If you feel like a change, get yourself a wig. It is amazing, how much having a different hairstyle can transform a person. And for a woman it is always important to vary her image and look fresh.

The first thing you need to do before picking out colors is to decide if you have a Warm, Neutral or Cool skin tone. One way to do this is to take a good look at yourself in a mirror in natural sunlight. Decide if your skin color has more Blue or Yellow to it, or if they are pretty well even.

More Blue = Cool
More Yellow = Warm
Equal = Neutral

Another way to find out what skin tone you have is to compare your skin to the colors Silver and Gold. Generally if your skin looks good with Gold, you have a warm skin tone, Silver means cool, and if it looks good with both, then you have Neutral.

Sometimes it can be hard to tell on yourself, so you may want to ask a friend to help you decide.

Once you have decided your skin tone, it is time to choose a Concealer, Foundation and Powder. Depending on where you buy your cosmetics from, you may have a hard time figuring out which one looks best on your skin tone. Avon products are labeled with a W, C or N to decipher which skin tone they are best for. After this, the best way to choose a Concealer, foundation and powder is to try it out! Generally for concealer, you should pick one that is a shade lighter than your natural skin tone, so that when you use it to cover dark areas and imperfections it will blend and look natural. If you have a lot of red spots (acne, scars, etc.) then you should also look into getting a Green spot neutralizer, you use this under concealer to neutralize the red spot and make it look natural. After you have chosen the right concealer for yourself, you should choose a liquid foundation that matches your skin tone as closely as possible. If you have freckles it is recommended to match the color with your lightest freckles to help even out your skin color. Your powder should match your liquid foundation as closely as possible and be used last out of the 3.

After this you should choose an eye shadow. Again, depending on where you purchase your cosmetics you may have trouble finding shades that look good on you as they arent always labeled for skin tones. From my experience I have found that for Cool skin tones, Pinks, Berries and Blue/greys seem to look best, for Warm skin tones Earth tones tend to look best (greens & browns and some reds ESPECIALLY for redheads), and for Neutral Skin tones, I try to combine the 2.

After you have chosen and applied the appropriate eyeshadow, you should apply an eyeliner and Mascara. For people with light colored hair, brown or brown/black is an excellent choice of eyeliner and mascara. For people with Darker hair, Black is best, Although black looks very dramatic on anyone, it is a great choice for evening time.

After eyeliner and mascara it is time to choose and apply a lipstick. Generally you should match your lipstick to your eyeshadow, keep it in the same general color family, so if you are wearing pink eyeshadow, try a similar color lipstick, maybe a shade darker or lighter. Grey eyeshadow looks great with different shades of red lipstick! As a rule of thumb, if your eyeshadow is shimmery, you should avoid shimmery lipsticks, and vice-versa. I recommend to all of my clients to DAB lipstick on, not to swipe it across their lips. By dabbing you have more control over the intensity of the color and you can make a more natural or bold look.

As with everything, this is just a guideline, play around with your makeup, take whatever seems helpful and leave the rest, this is just meant to give some suggestions, the best way to find out what looks best on you, is to try different things out! Good luck!

Skin types are unique and react in different ways to weather, environment, and creams and/or lotions. In order to keep skin healthy and youthful in appearance it is essential to know your skin type and how to care for it.

Most skin care specialists will advise to apply moisturizers all over the body to nourish the skin. Top of the list in skin care is sun protection to prevent damage to the delicate skin structure. A few other simple steps will help you care for your particular skin type.

Normal Skin: Use a rich cream or lotion to moisturise the skin. Be sure to apply the moisturizer to the neck and décolletE Don't forget to moisturize the elbows and knees. It's best to apply moisturizers after bathing while the skin is still moist for better absorption.

Oily Skin: There are already plenty of natural oils in this skin type, so use a light moisturizer. A body mist spray is also good for oily skin, as it will sit gently on the skin, without stimulating the glands that product body oils. To avoid breakouts it is important to keep pores from becoming clogged.

Combination Skin: This type of skin usually refers to just the face. The neck however, should not be forgotten. The neck area tends to dry if you have this type of skin. A light moisturizer that contains sunscreen should be used in order to combat dryness. At night a richer cream will nourish the skin as you sleep, keeping it smooth, supple and youthful.

Dry Skin: A deep penetrating cream will nourish this type of skin. Try an oil-based lotion as an alternative; it will leave the skin silky and smooth. Dry skin is often aggravated by air conditioning, wind and sun. Always use extra moisturizers to keep hydrated when exposed to these elements.

Sensitive Skin: This type of skin often needs special attention. Formulated and medicated creams can be obtained to address specific individual needs. A visit to a professional will help evaluate this type of skin and assist in designing a skin care regime that addresses each particular case.

·Keep your skin protected from the sun at all times.
·Drink plenty of water.
·Get lots of sleep.
·Do not rub the skin - always pat skin dry with a soft towel.
·Consult your aesthetician or dermatologist they can advise youon solutions to most problem skin conditions.

With more and more of us understanding the serious consequences of suntanning, we are looking for alternatives. Remember the first self tanners that hit the shelves many years ago ? wella you became instant carrot orange. Well we've come along way babe! The hottest thing to hit the beauty seen is "spray tanning."

Spray tan in a can is the latest in sunless tanning technology. Forget lotions or pump sprays that leave uneven tones. Although lotions have come along way from the carrot orange days, some can still leave you with orange under tones. Aerosol tanning sprays can leave you with a perfect looking, no hassle, even tan.

Spray tan in a can is the safest, easiest way to get a perfect sunless tan at home! No more harmful UV rays or trips to the tanning bed.

You will want to find a reputable shop. Ask around, word of mouth is always a good way to find out what salon does the best spray tanning. Once you've chosen a salon book your appointment.

If your planning to have a spray tan for a special event, say like your wedding, then I would suggest a trial run about a month prior. If you like the results you can book again, if you don't then I suggest trying another salon.

On the day of your appointment shower and exfoliate. Use a loofah and shower gel and body scrub to remove all your dry/dead skin. This will ensure an even application.

At the salon they will give you instructions, often these instructions are in the form of the video. The whole procedure and what you need to do will be explained to you.

Some important things to remember:

hold your breath when the spray is going off (for about 14 seconds and its very challenging)

follow the instructions "exactly" as to where to apply the lotion to block the spray on your feet and hands. You need to block the spray from your hands and feet because these areas have excess wrinkles and creases, so if they are sprayed you will get a tell-tale white veiny looking areas in the creases.

when the spray stops you need to turn around

when you leave the spray booth you will be given towels to wipe down and remove any excess spray. Make sure you wipe not blot.

The color from your spray tan will last anywhere from 7-10 days. The treatments are still a bit on the pricey side at around $40.00 a treatment, so this isn't something you get done on a regular basis, more like a treat or for a special occasion. Some companies sell packages that give you a reduced rate.

It is important to apply plenty of moisturizer on a regular basis to the extent the life of your Spray on Sun Tan. If you have very dry skin use a deep moisturizer. Blend any moisturizer into the skin and do not wipe it off as this will remove some of your spray tan.

Baths, spas and swimming in chlorinated pools will reduce the life of your tan.

Tips for spray tanning...
All the spray tanning in the world will do you no good if it attaches itself to dead skin that is about to come off your body so be sure to Exfoliate! Use a loofah sponge in the bath the night before you spray tan session to remove these dead skin cells.

Choose your clothes carefully. Pick clothes that cover all the parts of your body you won't be tanning. Select tight fitting clothes so that the tan spray cannot go under your sleeves. Choose dark colored clothes, since spray tanners will stain clothing.

Follow the instructions! Provided by the Salon. Self-tanning booths typically have a handout, so read up, and make sure you know what to do!

For 30-60 seconds after a self-tanning booth application you need to Stand still. This will ensure that your tan dries evenly. Although it does take longer than 30 seconds for your spray tan to dry completely, the first minute or more is when you run a real risk of rubbing off the self-tanner before it has a chance to work.

After your spray tan application you will need to Blot your skin with a towel to catch any drips.

Because your feet normally get less sun than the rest of you, your feet are paler and may get dark faster, so it is important to Protect your feet. If you are spraying yourself, go lightly on the feet. If you are using a salon use the paper booties that are provided to protect your feet. You can later apply a self tanner to your feet to give them the appropriate amount of color.

If you've got a special event coming up, perhaps a wedding, prom, or a re-union, spray tanning might be something you'll want to try. When done correctly it results in a very natural looking tan adding summer color to your pale winter skin.

First the definition of Plastic Surgery is: Surgical repair of congenital or acquired deformities and the restoration of contour to improve the appearance and function of tissue defects. Development of this specialized branch of surgery received impetus from the need to repair gross deformities sustained in World War I. By the grafting of tissue or the use of artificial materials such as silicone, some remarkable restorations have become possible. Severe burns and the removal of fairly extensive skin cancers leave scars that must be covered by skin grafts; breast reconstruction after mastectomy is another application. In addition to correcting a disfigurement, plastic surgery is often needed to restore vital movement and function of tissues that have been destroyed. It is also performed for purely cosmetic purposes, such as improving the shape of a nose, bringing outstanding ears closer to the head, or lifting the skin to erase wrinkles. Modern plastic surgeons often employ CAT scans to produce computer-generated images that are used to plan or simulate complex reconstructive surgeries.

The very first descriptions of skin grafts date back to India circa 800 B.C., where they served to obstruct the facial hole resulting from nose amputations. During the Renaissance, Ambroise ParEdeveloped the art of suture, leaving records in which he describes both the instruments and the technique employed. In the 19th century, new methods for operating were developed, ending earlier rudimentary and painful procedures. However, at that time the Catholic Church was strongly opposed to the advancement of science in general, and specifically opposed remodeling the human form. But in the 20th century, when Europe was confronted with the seriously mutilated faces of soldiers returning from the fronts of WWI, the imperative to repair them grew, and plastic surgery finally gained a respectable place in the medical profession.

Then World War II came and once again, plastic surgeons used their skills to help their countrymen. This led to more plastic surgery advances. Then by the 1950s, plastic surgery was fully integrated into the medical community. In the 1960s, the concept of plastic surgery grew in the consciousness of the American public as more physicians performed plastic surgery procedures. Plus in this decade, silicone started being used in plastic surgery and started becoming a part of our culture. Now in the 1970s, the plastic surgeon became one of the leading medical professions. And in the 1980s, plastic surgery was expanding all over the country. By the 1990s, there thousands of board-certified plastic surgeons and the numbers continue to grow, even today. Now there are thousands of plastic surgeons, offering a variety of plastic surgery procedures to patients not just in the United States, but all over the world.

Plastic surgery were it once was just for the very rich has become affordable for almost all Americans. Plastic surgery has truly come a long way and continues to make advancements in the complexity of procedures performed today.

It must be Halloween or you are in a play if you are thinking about buying novelty contact lenses. Quite a few of the special effects that are shown in the movies are done with these special costume contact lenses. They can be really enticing to wear because they certainly are different, but they must be used safely and with caution. Some of the styles and ways you can wear them are:

?Put on a black cat suit and one of the different styles and colors of cat eyes

?Dress in red with a fork and wear devil lenses

?Put on a tuxedo and wear vampire lenses

?Make your eyes appear red or black with total coverage

?If you want to support your favorite NFL team, you can get contacts that display your team name

?You can look like a reptile with a green lens and a black vertical slit going through it

?A whimsical lens would be a smiley face, flower, or dollar signs

?Contact lenses that feature flames would be fun for a devil costume

?Lenses can change color if when exposed to a black light so they would be even more noticeable at a club

?Show your patriotism with an American flag, or the Union Jack.

?There are eye drops that you can put in your eye to make them appear dead

?What kind of animal do you want to look like? How about a cat, jaguar, zebra, wolf or reptile?

?A novelty contact lens used in one eye only would look really scary or funky.

?These are only a few of the wild choices that you can find online from a reputable dealer or from your eye care professional.

There is a down side to the use of novelty lenses. All of the costume lenses on the market are seen by the FDA as medical devices so you must have a prescription to buy them. They do not carry any kind of corrective prescription; it is just as though they were a plain pair of glasses with fake lenses in them. Black market contacts have been more places than ever before. You might find the novelty lenses in a gas station, flea market, or salon. If you get them from somewhere other than a reputable distributor, you could be inviting serious permanent eye injury. Definitely stay away from those lenses because you just can't put your eyes at such risk. They can also present a danger because many of the styles limit the amount of light that enters the eye. Your peripheral vision may also be restricted, causing problems while driving or even walking.

Novelty contact lenses can be safe to wear as long as you follow the guidelines from your eye care professional. Never swap lenses with your friends. If they aren't fitted specifically for you, they can cause eye injury and will be very uncomfortable to wear. You wouldn't do that with corrective contacts and you shouldn't do that with these. Clean them just as you would other lenses, and don't sleep or swim in them. If you get a proper prescription from your eye doctor and get them from a reputable dealer, you should be able to have fun with the lenses and create the theatrical or scary look you are trying to achieve.

Cosmetic companies like Erno Laszlo, Estee Lauder and Lancome, train their sales associates to sell unsuspecting women hundreds of dollars of unnecessary skin care products.

SELLING SKIN CARE, TELLING LIES - 75% of all drugs and cosmetics are derived from nature.

One of the lies, which builds the sale, is that the eye area is too frail and delicate for your facial moisturizer. "Only an eye cream will work on the eye area", another lie. "You must use our cleanser" in order to receive the full benefits of our moisturizer. "You won't receive the full anti aging benefits if you don't use the whole system". All Lies.

Try cleaning your skin with baby shampoo, milk and sugar, equal parts. Want to look younger, add cornmeal to the cleanser. Acne a problem, add aspirin. Splash to rinse 10 times with very warm water. Need a toner, use Green Tea or Orange or Aloe Vera Juice. Moisturize with a vitamin e capsule or soy bean oil (vitamin e). For melasma or brown spots, an over the counter fade cream (under $10.00) twice a day after cleansing takes the place of an in office procedure.

Erno Laszlo won't even sell individual items, they insist you use everything from Erno Laszlo, alcohol, mineral oil and petroleum based.

The news media won't tell you that cosmetic companies like Erno Laszlo use, pore clogging petroleum and mineral oil and charge the consumer up to $100 a jar for sugar, castor oil and fragrance. Can you imagine being a writer for a magazine trying to tell the truth about their advertisers skin care products?

There is no market for the truth. Cosmetic companies use sugar or glycol acid in anti aging products because sugar penetrates the skin and the skin cell. This means, yes you can take a bath in sugar and you will look younger. Your skin will become more supple looking because the sugar plumps up the skin cells in your skin.

If a cosmetic company creates a chemical that penetrates the skin and the skin cell, it would be considered a drug, not a cosmetic and require a doctors prescription. Nature provides aspirin (salicylic acid), derived from a plant, the active ingredient in acne treatment skin care products, from Proactive and Erno Laszlo.

The grape seed extract in eye care products from Erno Laszlo and Estee Lauder, is Thompson Seedless Green Grapes and green tea is green tea. How can women spend so much money buying such inferior skin care,,just bad copies of natural ingredients (food).

Fruit acid in cosmetics are made from: apples, oranges, grapefruit, berries, all very good for your skin. Cosmetic companies make chemicals that mimic the action of fruit on your face. Honey contains a natural peroxide and is a great skin care treatment for dry skin.

Where can a woman go for a true education on her skin, not the department store cosmetic counter, they have lies for the consumer.

The media does not protect the consumer against cosmetic companies because they are afraid of offending their advertisers or even their shareholders. What about a book you say that exposes that fact that exfoliation with cornmeal will make your skin look younger and aspirin can replace a product sold only with a prescription. Same problem, who would publish the book, a publisher owned by corporation who owns a skin care company. Where would such a book be advertised?

Can you literally rub lines and wrinkes away with a wash cloth and water, yes. This is a very inexpensive treatment for getting rid of "crows feet".

Aloe Vera smells really bad, but boy does it penetrate the skin without an rx. Natural ingredients like milk, sugar and aloe are synthesized preserved with chemicals and mixed into mineral oil and water for $65.00 from Erno Laszlo.

The same corporation that owns the skin care company, owns the newspaper, magazine, book publisher and television station. Did you know that garlic kills lung cancer cells in a test tube?

While we have made significant progress in our understanding of the human body and of life, still we find that the vital health and youthfulness we're looking for is somewhat elusive. What we scientists ultimately come to recognize is that the "Fountain of Youth" lies "naturally" within each of us.

As we take a look at nature and the lifestyles of earlier cultures, we do not find the problems of disease, sickness or excess weight that occur in our modern society. This should prompt us to see what these cultures are doing that has proven to work throughout time. For example, I try to live a more natural lifestyle in regards to diet (loads of raw vegetables), activity and exercise, environment, and pure distilled water. I incorporate each of these as much as possible, though not perfectly. Nevertheless, the result is a better quality of life largely free from sickness and disease.

Our SAD (Standard American Diet) of today unfortunately consists of highly processed "foods" that starve the body of nutrition and create difficulties for the digestive system, which results in colon problems. It's known in the natural health industry that over 90% of all human diseases and sickness are from a congested (constipated) colon. This also accelerates the aging process. Modern science hasn't and won't find a break-through drug that will restore your health. But they don't need to. The solution simply is a more natural lifestyle involving the integration of corrective and preventative measures over time. Let me mention a few here.

One corrective measure is to cleanse and detoxify the body to get rid of some of the causes of disease and sickness. This can be done by:

Drinking adequate amounts of pure distilled water.

Stimulate the digestive track by reflexology massage on the sole of the feet every other day. Reflexology charts are available in health stores or online.

Stimulation of the elimination process. There are several great ways to do this, but the easiest is to simply eat a large green salad (full of fresh, raw, preferably organic vegetables) with each of your meals throughout the day. Consuming 3 ? 5 salads per day not only helps you look younger, but it also adds years to your life, gives you energy, and helps you lose excess body weight ? fast.

If your day is too busy to eat enough raw vegetables each and every day ? then simply find yourself a high quality vegetable drink like those listed here...Click Here for more information.

Some youth enhancing measures can involve the following:

Start today to migrate your diet from processed and refined devitalized "foods" to whole, raw, organic foods that are full of nutrition and are easily digested.

Increase physical activity and enjoy nature with regular outdoor activities, or by integrating an exercise program, etc.

Take time outdoors each day to breath deeply clean, fresh air.

Be happy, smile often, and laugh daily. Sounds too easy, but eliminating stress is proven to increase health.

Nature has everything to offer if you are willing to indulge. Start today to make these suggestions a part of your new lifestyle. Enjoy good health and long life and find the true fountain of youth within yourself!

The first step to a glowing complexion is cleansing your skin daily. Cleanses with ground oatmeal, sunflower seeds, aloe vera or organic sugar can help you with this step. Follow this step with a good toner for your skin type.

Cleansing scrubs, should also be used as an important part of your weekly regime. Scrubs will exfoliate your skin, remove dead skin cells, and improve the texture of your skin.

You should follow cleansing and toning with a good moisturizer designed for your skin type.

Microderm Abrasion is used to eliminate the top layer of the epidermus, bringing newer skin to the surface. It removes the old layer of skin by polishing or acting as an abrasive, to improve imperfections and fine lines this is a wonderful addition to your skin care regime and should be done weekly.

Tanning products, both sunless and sun, go to work on the epidermis, or the outside layer of your skin, and not the dermis or inner layer. However, the layer of epidermis that is affected by sunless versus the layer affected by sun tanning products differs.

Sun tanning lotions, sprays, gels or foams, go to work on the stratum basale or deepest layer and sunless tanning items go to work on the stratum corneum or outermost layer.

WHEN TO APPLY:

Since most self tanning lotions have no sunscreen for protection outdoors, the best time to use self tanners is at night before going to bed.

If done earlier, allow a minimum of two hours and test for staining before putting back on your regular clothes. If your lotion contains extra coloring formula or if you're using a spray, staining could be a major issue and you won't to go to bed and stain bedding; so use these types of products earlier in the evening or when you have more time to "dry" after applying (at least a few hours).

WHAT TO DO:

Gather your necessary items together. Choose what you want to wear if you want tanning lines, whether it's a swimsuit, undergarments, etc. Use caution in your choices because the product may stain or run so choose old clothing, especially without nylon (permanently stains this fabric), and not loose clothing (to inhibit runny lotions). You will also need to be able to shower or wash beforehand.

Get a cotton washcloth or whatever you use to exfoliate your skin (sponge and other product, etc.), soap, any moisturizer you may want to use, your self tanning product, disposable clear gloves, a nail brush, a ball cap, hair pins or accessories to keep hair from your face, a sponge roller brush or paintbrush if you will apply product to your back, and access to a clock.

APPLYING:

If you are not going to use disposable gloves, you will need to wash your hands and scrub your nails often while applying the tanning product so that they don't stain orange.

WHERE TO APPLY:

Begin with a shower or washing to remove dead, flaky and dry skin. Wash with your washcloth or exfoliation sponge, gently going in a circular motion. Special areas of focus are your knees and lower legs, your ankles and feet, and your elbows. When finished, dry yourself, including your hair, thoroughly, and get hair up off neck. Let steam out of the room, if you'll be continuing in there. (Remember: moisture like steam & sweat can cause the self tanning product to run / wear off.)

MOISTURIZER STAGE:

Gently rub moisturizer into the special areas of focus mentioned above (knees, ankles, etc) to prepare for the self tanning solution. Some apply this to the face and neck areas, too.

SELFTANNER STAGE:

It's time to apply your tanning product.Beginners should practice on small areas first.

FIVE MINUTE LEGS: Begin by applying the tanning product to your legs. Work with one leg at a time, applying in a circular motion from top to bottom. For feet and ankles, go ahead and apply a little thinner coating. Most prefer to cover the torso first, using the roller brush or paintbrush on the back, then continue with the arms.

FIVE MINUTE UPPER BODY: Continue applying product upwards in circular motion. Most prefer to cover the torso first, using the roller brush or paintbrush on the back, then continue with the arms. If it's taking awhile to cover all areas and you're not using gloves, remember to check the clock and wash hands and nails thoroughly before continuing. (Treat elbows as you did knees).

FIVE MINUTE NECK-UP: Time to finish up with the neck, face, ears, nose, cheeks. Go lightly is the motto for these areas.

DRYING STAGE:

Now it's time for drying. Depending upon the tanning product and your genetics, you will want to wash and exfoliate the dry, flaky, dead skin cells and reapply product every few days or so.

If your teenage daughter wants to wear contact lenses, you may have some reservations, so get as much information as you can for her when it comes to applying makeup. Contacts are nice because eyeglasses may get in the way if your teen plays sports and girls like their pretty eyes to show instead of being hidden by eyeglasses. Your teen needs to be responsible so that she will take care of them and put on her makeup with eye care in mind. If you misuse cosmetics when wearing contacts, you may develop allergies, dry eye, injury, infection, or deposits on the lenses. There are a lot of things you can do to safely put on makeup if you wear contacts. Here are some tips and product information when it comes to applying makeup safely around the eyes:

?Wash your hands prior to putting in each contact, then apply makeup

?Don't expose your eyes to water while wearing contacts

?Take out the lenses before you remove your makeup. Avoid greasy or oily makeup removers as they may build up on the contact lenses

?Avoid getting too close to the eye with any type of makeup

?Use makeup that is hypoallergenic to avoid sensitivity. Use only well known trusted brand names

?Use water soluble makeup

?Don't use waterproof mascara as it may permanently adhere to the lens. Also avoid mascara that contains volume building fibers

?Avoid eye shadow that is powder. Use only gel, liquid or cream. Never use eye shadow that is frosted or iridescent. These may contain oyster shells or mica.

?Do not use eyeliner that is directly drawn on the rim of the eye. Keep all eyeliner pencils sharp enough so the wood doesn't scratch the surface of the eye

?Use pressed powders

?Don't use hairspray or other aerosols if you have already put in your lenses. Allow all hairspray to settle before walking into a room that has just been sprayed. Many times hair products can irritate the eyes and they are more susceptible now to problems because you wear contacts.

? Keep all nail polish remover and perfumes away from your contacts.

?Never swap makeup application sponges or brushes with your friends and wash your application brushes frequently

?Don't put on make up if your eyes are already red or swollen, this will only irritate them more

?Beware of flaking mascara because pieces of nylon can reach the eye and never purchase mascara refills

?Never use saliva or water to thin cosmetics

?Never swap your contacts with your friends

?Never wear the contacts if they become cracked, chipped or torn

?You may want to use an eye wash to remove any excess oils from makeup residual?Replace your cosmetics every six months to avoid bacterial growth

?Never apply eye makeup while in a car or worse yet while driving

If your teenager follows a few common sense ways of putting on makeup properly and purchasing the right products, there should be no problems with the contacts, or maintaining eye health and safety.

Maybe you need a Gia Makeover.

When it comes to hair styles, there are so many different options today to make changes. You can change your color, add highlights, add bangs, add layering and even add length or thickness with hair extensions. Makeovers are becoming more and more popular as television shows such as ABC's Extreme Makeover outline how a makeover is done and drastic changes that can be done.

Hair stylist, Gia Wood of Salon D in Dallas, Texas specializes in makeovers and hair extensions and is considered Dallas' makeover specialist. She has hundreds of clients locally and many clients that fly or drive in to Dallas for her services. One of her clients flies all the way from Spain just to get her hair done. Gia says, "I find that clients who are willing to drive or fly that far just to get their hair done are the biggest compliment and the proof of my success."

So what is this makeover fuss all about? Gia explains that most of her clients have either been the victim of an inexperienced stylist or have simply not thought enough about the change in hairstyle they wanted and they are now stuck with something they hate. Gia adds, "Most of my makeovers include color correction, which can be highlights, color, gloss or all of the above. Makeovers also include a haircut and style, along with makeup application. The total process can take around 4 hours to complete."

Gia says, "When dealing with color correction, the first thing every client asks me is '...how damaged will my hair be after a color correction?'" Believe it or not, color correction is not as damaging as it used to be. The old way of stripping hair color out with bleach is history. Modern day products allow hair stylists to remove 'artificial pigment' only, meaning that it will not open, damage, or split the cuticle of the hair in any way. This allows hairdressers to remove the most intense colors from hair, and allow it to be re-colored in the same appointment time."

Gia will also offer suggestions for change in color and style to fix any problems a client reports with their hair. "For example, if a client has a brassy blonde color, I will suggest a bleach highlight or an ash toner to offset the brass color." She explains.

Getting a successful makeover depends on the experience of the stylist. Gia further explains, "My previous clients and even new clients trust my experience level and let me do what ever I feel like with their hair. Most of the time when I'm doing a makeover, I am usually correcting another stylist's color or haircut. I usually ask my clients what or who they would like to look like and to give a firm example of what they like and don't like. And, even if a client loves the way her hair looks, they may be looking for a change to further improve their hair style."

Photos of styles the client likes are very helpful to hair stylists. Gia adds, "Clients and stylists have different vocabularies. For example, Bangs. There are a thousand ways to wear bangs." Gia recommends bringing at least three photos of the hair style you want so your stylist does not get confused.

Gia also keeps a computer at her work station to look up hair styles online (such as a past hair style of a celebrity) if a client does not have photos or cannot remember certain styles they like. The computer eliminates the need for bulky portfolio books.

"Once the client and I have decided on a style and color," Gia explains, "We discuss what it will take to get the clients hair to that hair style." Most of the time the exact cut and color are achieved in one day. But Gia mentions that some clients that are growing their hair out may take several months and appointments to reach their overall goal. Human hair extensions (human hair extensions are attached directly to the natural hair) are also an option for clients that don't want to wait for their hair to grow out.

Gia's makeover experience is well-documented on her website: http://www.hairbygia.com Many before and after photo examples of makeovers, including hair extensions can be seen for your reference. Gia is quickly becoming the talk of the town with recent appearances on the television show "Austin Nights" (Segment can be viewed on her website) for her hair extensions services. She was also interviewed for the Number One best selling E-book by Hair Resources, 2005's Most Popular Hair Extensions and participated as a Judge in their Nationwide Bridal Hair Style Contest.

In short, if you are sick and tired of your hair style and need a makeover, a trip to visit Gia Wood at Salon D in Dallas, Texas may well be worth your time, money?and happiness!
