Make Your Pores Behave

Smooth and soft skin, even tone, rosy glow, pores invisible to the naked eye... Perfect complexion. Isn't that what we hope to see when coming to the mirror?

But the reality is harsh and mirrors don't lie. The pores are there, perfectly visible, and seem to get bigger and bigger.

Why would Mother Nature put the most visible ones where you can't hide them? Life would be so much easier if we could keep them out of sight (and out of mind). I bet Nature had no idea people would consider pores a problem and, of course, had the best reasons in mind.

Pores are tiny (oh well, comparatively tiny) passages for oil that is produced in sebum glands to reach the surface of the skin. There are approximately 300 000 oil glands in human skin, the highest concentration is on the face, chest and back. The glands produce up to one ounce of oil daily!

The oil forms a protective layer over the skin that prevents moisture loss and helps to keep the skin soft and resilient and prevent injury and environmental damage. Given the fact that skin on the face is thinner than in other body areas and is constantly exposed to sun, wind, cold and heat, we desperately need this protection.

The challenge is to maintain the right balance between the activity of sebaceous glands and the actual needs of your skin. Problems start when pores have to deal with more oil than they can handle. Pores expand under the pressure of excessive oil flow and become visible. Once they enlarge, they don't shrink back. There are no muscles around pores that could contract and close the opening.

More and more pores can become visible with age. This is due to the loss of skin elasticity and sagging. As skin is drawn down by gravity, pores become more obvious.

Keeping pores clean is the first thing you need to do if you want to make them less noticeable and prevent their size increase.

When oil binds with dirt and dead skin cells, pores become clogged and - again - stretch. To prevent this, keep oil under control, use gentle and effective cleansers and exfoliate regularly.

After cleansing, use astringent toner. Astringents cause slight swelling of the top skin layer, which temporarily closes pores. There are two things to be cautious about. First, don't overdry your skin or it will react by producing even more oil. Second, if your skin is sensitive, be extra careful as it might not tolerate some of the ingredients used in astringents.

Mature skin will benefit from thorough cleansing and gentle exfoliating followed by a face-lift mask. When done 1-3 times a week, this regiment will produce visible improvement in just a few weeks.

The pores don't shrink permanently. We have to accept it, just as we accept that fair eyelashes can't get dark and straight hair don't curl. Yet, we learned to live with it and still get the look we want. The same thing is with pores: you can improve the way they look when and if you want to.

Drop The High Street Drag - Shop For Style Online!

Surely it's considered a major fashion faux pas ? turning up somewhere in the same outfit as someone else. If the current crop of high street shops are anything to go by, however, you'd be forgiven for thinking that clothing conformity is something we're all striving towards.

Let's face it, for those of us looking for something a little bit 'different', high street shopping can be a pretty dreary and dispiriting experience. Just imagine that you're blindfolded and parachuted into a UK city's shopping street ? your blindfold is removed ? do you know where you are? The answer is that there will probably be very few clues, as you will find exactly the same shops wherever you go. The 'usual suspects' will be side by side, churning out similar-styled garments and cashing in on the latest 'celebrity style' craze with cheap copies of couture pieces.

To those who crave individualism and want to dress with a bit of flair and originality, this copycat culture is depressing. Kate Moss only has to appear looking stunning dressed in her own inimitable style ? inimitable being the moot point here - and suddenly we're being bombarded by 'where to get the latest look' articles and fooled into spending our hard earned cash on faked fashion which isn't going to make us look a million dollars, and won't make us look like Kate in a million years. When it comes to mock fashion the real mockery is the one we make of ourselves.

Don't despair! The internet is a fantastic resource for anyone seeking their own unique style. There are plenty of places to shop online offering distinctive, desirable apparel and accessories which will set you apart from the 'clothing clones' without breaking the bank. The benefits of buying online are many; no more trooping round town elbowing others out of the way, no queues, and no last minute buying because the shop's about to shut, only to get home and discover your panic purchase looks terrible on or has traces of cosmetics on the collar. Instead you can shop from the comfort of your home, browsing and buying at your leisure.

Small businesses and solo fashion designers use the web to showcase their products, and because their overheads are lower (no huge retail premises to maintain and large staff to pay) you have a real opportunity to purchase gorgeous garments and attractive accessories which won't cost the earth. There are also sites selling quality second-hand and vintage fashion pieces, allowing you to track down your own style statement for a fraction of the price of buying new. If something is described as 'hand made' don't let memories of Auntie Dot's amazing asymmetrical unravelling knitwear cloud your judgment ? handmade usually means lovingly crafted with great attention to quality and detail, and can definitely denote a one-off, original clothing item which will be the envy of others and a fashion favourite for years to come.

If you're more concerned about the look you want than the designer label you're wearing, there are a few points to consider when buying over the internet. Search for sites with decent product photographs and detailed descriptions, not tiny little 'thumbnail' images. After all, you wouldn't buy a product from a catalogue unless you had a good idea what it looked like. Use careful keywords to narrow and speed your internet searches. For example, if you'd prefer a product in a quality fibre, include 'wool' or a more specific term such as 'mohair' as one of your search words to find precisely what you want faster. Vague, all-encompassing search terms will only drag the high street to your desktop, and you'll end up ploughing through 'virtual' polyester! Make sure sites offer secure checkouts that encrypt your credit-card details; safe and trusted payment methods include PayPal, WorldPay and NoChex, although there are plenty of others.

Finally, enjoy the experience! The internet gives you a great choice, and buying online from a smaller supplier often means you'll receive a much higher quality product and level of service than you'd find in a vast anonymous 'bricks and mortar' store. Independent online retailers are keen to involve their customers in a real relationship, and you'll find yourself returning regularly to your favourite fashion sites. Shopping to suit yourself can be very rewarding, and not just financially.

5 DIY Anti-aging Tactics

Do you want your life story to be a long and joyous one, without having every line written on your face?

Yes, we all do!Is there anyone who doesn't want to look as good as they can,for as long as they can?

While there are some very quick fixes such as, minor to majorcosmetic surgeries, there are some less extreme measuresthat you can use to look and feel younger on a daily basis.

(1) Check your attitude!

How do you feel about life?

Is your life going the way you want it to?

Do you take responsibility for what you have created, good or bad?

How about accepting who you are?

Be grateful for what you have, family, friends, a job etc. Then do an assessment of the things you want to change, ifany.

Watch your self-talk, if you wouldn't say those things to others, don't say them to yourself!

Be aware of why you want to make any change in your life.It must be something you have committed to, else you willmost likely fail and add one more reason to criticize yourself.

(2)Know your nutritional needs!

What you eat has a huge impact on how you look and feel.

The foods you eat help make and maintain soft, smooth, glowing skin.

Wrinkle free skin is important in any anti-aging effort.

The recommended daily food requirements are good guidelines, butyou must know how to balance your food intake to keep yourbody performing at its best.

At any given age, we might need to boost specific nutrientsor hormones.

Get regular checkups!

Eat fresh fruits and vegetables as snacks, instead ofover-processed manufactured "fast foods".

Try not to rush your meals.

When food is not given enough time to be digested properly,it becomes a burden on your body, causing un-neccessary wearand tear and premature aging!

(3)Take timeouts!

When was the last time you had some fun?

A good laugh?

If you cannot remember, it's been too long!

Even if you must laugh at yourself, find something to laugh about.

Old photos, old clothes you've kept that you will neverwear again, find something, anything.

What about pampering?

Done anything special for yourself lately?

A facial, or manicure?

In -home or at a salon, it doesn't really matter.

It's the time you spend just focusing on yourself that willmake you feel special and cared for.

We all need that!

(4)Be interested and interesting!

Yes, we are all short on time, we are busy people, but you mustmake time to be interested in others, your community, the world. You will find that is the only way to be interesting yourself.

Learn something new, a language, a new style of cooking or dance.Learn about a culture that's different than your own.

Ageless, interesting individuals always seem to want to know moreabout life.

Try not to pry or judge, just be open to sharing opinions andknowledge.

(5)Groomimg is ageless!

When did you last update your looks?

A new hair style or wardrobe is a very effective anti-agingtactic.

Today there are so many flattering styles of dressing, everyoneof us can find one that works perfectly for us.

Subtle changes in hair coloring can make you look years younger.

Lose a few pounds if you need to.

There is a diet that will work for you.

Find skin care that's right for your skin type.

Take care of your nails and teeth.

Beautiful well cared for hands is a must for you, if you wantto appear younger!

Anti-aging is more a matter of making the most of what you have, than the sporadic and temporary results gained by invasive andexpensive surgeries.

Agelessness is more about maintenance over the long-term thanany qick fixes.

Meaningful beauty is not just smooth skin (which is nice) but it isalso an outlook on life, your life.

Treat yourself and others with respect.

Balance your physical, emotional and spiritual life.

No one else can or will do it for you!

Get rest when you need it, play when you have the opportunity.

Own your emotions, accept responsiblity for your actions, apologise for your mistakes, give and accept praise gracefully.

One of the best ways to anti-age yourself is to not only lookgood, but to be pleasant and interesting to be around!

Safety With Essential Oils

Essential oils are highly fragrant, volatile oils that are extracted from the flowers, leaves and other parts of plants. Essential oils generally go by the name of the plant from which they were extracted. For instance, lavender essential oil comes from lavender and sandalwood essential oil comes from sandalwood. Essential oils have several properties which make them extremely useful for hair and skin care. For instance, grapefruit essential oil (scientific name Citrus x paradisi) has been found to stimulate hair growth, french lavender essential oil (scientific name Lavandula angustifolia) has been found to help combat dandruff, and tea tree essential oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) has been found to help clear up acne.

Essential oils are extremely potent. Having an essential oil is like having a concentrated liquid form of that plant. Because essential oils are so strong, you should be sure to follow the following safety precautions before using them:

1)Keep all essential oils out of the reach of children. Some essential oils can have harmful or fatal effects if ingested.

2)Don't apply any undiluted essential oil to your skin unless you know that it is safe to do so. Some essential oils (such as cloves and cinnamon) can be extremely irritating to the skin.

3) If you are pregnant, or seeking to become so, check with your doctor before experimenting with any essential oils.

4) Wait to go out in the sun if you plan to wear any product that contains a citrus essential oil. The citrus oils (bergamot, lemon, lime, sweet orange, mandarin, tangerine, grapefruit, etc.) make the skin more sensitive to ultraviolet light. They can cause rashes or a temporary darkening of the skin, if they are on your skin and you are exposed to strong sunlight.

5) If you are in a state of delicate health, consult your physician before using essential oils.

If you follow these safety precautions, working with essential oils will be a pleasant experience.

Non Prescription Cats Eye Contact Lenses - Animal Attraction!

Long gone are the days when a set of contact lenseswere the domain of the visually impaired. These days, non prescription lenses are available to all, even if you are blessed with 20:20 vision. In fact, most of the special effects lenses available on the internet have 0.00 power, which means that they do no alter your vision at all. These types of lenses in particular, like cats eyes for example, are ideally suited for those just wanting a set of lenses to wear to the party, parade on the dance floor or just to frighten your unruly neighbours!

A cat's eye contact lens can be quite striking, especially if the color resembles your natural eye color. Your friends will notice the change, but the effect will be very subtle. Many movie or rock stars now use special fx lenses away from their place of work, purely for the cosmetic effect. And a very powerful effect it is too!

Imagine the scene at a night club, as you casually walk towards someone you would like to impress, with your eyelids down and head bowed, then raise your head, smile, and open your eyes wide right in front of them. Wow! Wouldn't that be a spectacular introduction?

Just make sure you don't ask for your drinks in a saucer ....

Taking Care of Your Eyes

========================

Despite the fact that lenses like the cat's eye effect are particularly suitable for non prescription cases, you should still take great care with them, and seek professional advice to ensure that your eyes do not suffer from improper use. If you have poor eyesight already, you may be familiar with contact lenses and be able to fit them with confidence. If however, your vision is good, how will you know how to:-

* Insert your lenses into your eyes, and later how to remove them.

* Clean your lenses properly

* Store your lenses correctly

Each of these points is critical to the long life of your lenses, but more importantly, to the continued good health of your eyes. The correct fitting of your lens is important for your own comfort, because a loose fitting lens will float away from the eye. A good fitting lens will also help avoid scratching of the cornea when you try and remove them.

And don't share your lenses with your friends. A guaranteed way to pass eye infections such as conjunctivitis and worse between you.

Hair Care Home Remedies

Save money and give yourself a break from the chemicals found in most hair care products by using the following natural home remedies.

Tame your frizzy hair by rubbing coconut oil into your hands and applying sparingly onto your hair. You don't want to overdo it - too much will make your hair look greasy. Shampooing your hair less frequently also helps with the frizzies. Excess shampooing strips natural oils from the hair.

Rinse your hair with one tablespoon baking soda mixed with one cup of water to get rid of shampoo build-up and styling residues.

Rinsing your hair with one juiced lemon and one cup of water is said to bring life and shine back to dull hair.

1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar mixed with two cups of water will give your hair shine and bounce.

Add essential oil of ylang ylang to your shampoo, conditioner and styling agents as a hair rejuvenator.

Ylang ylang and rosemary essential oils are also believed to stimulate hair growth.

Drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of raw fruits and vegetables and getting plenty of rest is probably the best way to achieving healthy hair.

What goes into your body is reflective on the outside including your hair.

Tips For A Glowing Skin

Do you know how and where to moisturize? Here are some helpful hints?

MOISTURISING our skin is essential to maintain that 'young, beautiful' look. On another note, is it necessary to moisturize all areas of your skin? The answer is NO. Many models actually go to private 'beauty' classes to learn how, when and where to moisturize their skin. So, learn your skin type, don't be 'afraid to try many products before settling on one.

1. Do not over moisturize as it can lead to clogged pores. Your forehead and cheeks tend to be the drier areas. There is no need to moisturize your chin if it is not needed.

2. Most women misdiagnose their skin type. This can cause improper moisturizing. You also need to change your techniques of moisturizing with the changes of seasons. Know about the various moisturizers - http://beauty-cosmetic-guide.com/moisturizers.htm

3. When using a moisturizer, always apply it to the skin in a circulatory motion. Pat your skin with the tips of your fingers gently as if playing a tune on a piano. This is also a great stimulant for your skin.

4. Tired of buying moisturizers too often? Here is how to make them last longer. Use a small amount of natural vegetable oil as a base first. This will help make your moisturizer last much longer.

5. Use a moisturizer as a base before applying your foundation. For best results, wait until the moisturizer is dry and then apply foundation. However, if your foundation is somewhat dry; then apply it right away; your moisturizer will help it to loosen up a bit.

6.To get the best results from any of your facial products, rub it between your hands, this helps to heat it up, and hence, becomes easier to apply.

Doing your own home hair color for the first time can be intimidating, to say the least. Have I chosen the right color? What if I make a mistake and wind up with green hair? What if I end up with overprocessed, dry damaged hair?

The fact is that you can achieve excellent results and save a lot of money by coloring your hair at home as long as you know a few basics about how to select the right color and apply it correctly.

Here are seven of the most common questions and my advice on hair coloring at home.

Advice on Permanent Hair Coloring at Home

1. How do I know whether I should color my hair at home or go to a salon?

Most people can successfully color their hair at home but there are exceptions. You should get a professional color job if your hair is in poor condition - coloring dry damaged hair at home can result in uneven color. Also, if your hair has different shades and you want one even tone, a hairdresser can apply different formulas to the different areas. Finally, it's best to leave it to the experts if you want to make a drastic change to your hair color, say dark brown to platinum blonde, or you want special color effects or highlights.

2. Are drugstore hair colors just as good as salon hair color products?

In general, salon hair colors contain higher-quality ingredients than the drugstore brands. Salons also offer a wider variety of colors and tones. But home coloring kits are getting better all the time and can deliver good results if used properly.

3. How do I pick a color that will look natural on me?

When choosing a hair color, your skin tone and natural hair color are the two most important factors. Whether you're going lighter or darker, stay within two or three shades of your natural hair color. Here is a guideline for selecting a compatible hair color for your skin tone:

Dark/olive skin: Stay with darker hair colors.

Yellow skin: Dark, rich colors like deep auburn.

Pale skin: Almost any color.

Pink skin: Neutral tones like sandy or beige blonde or chocolate brown are best. Avoid reds or golden tones.

If you know what clothing colors suit you, you can also use that to help in choosing hair color:

If you look good in warm shades like red, orange, golden yellow, cinnamon brown, olive green, and rust, then warm hair tones like golden blonde, golden brown, strawberry blonde, and auburn will suit you best.

Cool color favorites like bluish red, fuschia, black, royal blue, and pine green indicate that cool hair tones are best for you: platinum, ash blonde, ash brown, burgundy, and jet black.

If you look good in true red, purple, charcoal grey, periwinkle, and teal, then neutral tones like sandy or beige blonde, chocolate brown or mahogany will suit you.

4. How do I get ready to color my hair the first time?

It's a good idea to gather a few materials together before starting: an old T-shirt, a few old towels and a washcloth that you don't mind getting stained, some hair clips for sectioning your hair, a timer, and a hand mirror to see the back of your head.

5. If I color my hair at home and hate it, what can I do?

There are some home hair color products you can use to repair the damage, but it isn't easy. The problem is that if you used a home hair color kit to obtain a lighter color, your hair has been bleached and colored in a single process. So the color needs to be added back in a process called "filling" before using the final color formula. Whatever you do, don't simply buy a box of your original color and try to cover over a bad dye job... it won't work. Fixing hair color gone wrong is a multi-stage process so a trip to the salon may be in order.

6. I already have permed hair. Can I color it without damaging it?

If your hair has been permed or relaxed, color has to be applied carefully or it can weaken the structure of your hair. Salons have colors specially formulated for treated hair. But if you insist on home hair coloring, choose a shade darker than you want since processed hair may come out lighter than expected. Then do a strand test to make sure your hair can handle the chemical stress.

7. I love my new color... now how do I keep it looking good?

You'll probably want to recolor every four to six weeks. Make a record of the hair color product and shade you used, and how long you left it on the ends and the regrowth. Use shampoos and conditioners formulated for color-treated hair to prevent fading. Stay out of the sun and chlorinated pools. Hair that has been previously been bleached isprone to such effects and should be rinsed as soon as possible. Don't use heavy conditioners and oil treatments after coloring... they can lift the color.

Now go out and enjoy your new look and all the money you saved by doing it yourself!

Tired Of Tweezing? A Better Way To A More Beautiful You

Any drug store has a section full of products to deal with the problem of unwanted facial hair: tweezers, waxes, bleaches, and even sugaring kits. Some salons have a trained electrolysist on staff to remove hairs by electrolysis (electric charge put through a needle to kill hair follicles at their root). Some dermatologists now offer laser removal of hair that removes hair.

Many women use one or a combination of these methods to remove facial hair that they feel detracts from their appearance. Some of these methods are uncomfortable, some can't be used by women with certain types of skin, some are temporary, and the ones that are permanent can be outrageously expensive. Lisa S, a family lawyer, comments wryly, "I'd rather spend the money on a gorgeous dress - then no-one will be looking at my face anyhow!"

Where did this facial hair come from?

All women have facial hair: for some women it consists of "peach fuzz" - an almost unnoticible sprinkling of almost invisible hairs. Some women however have places where one or more darker hairs (sometimes called terminal hairs) which they feel detracts from their beauty.

Women have different amounts of terminal hair on the face for different reasons. it might be hereditary - if your mother or grandmother has darker facial hair on the upper lip you're more likely to have the same pattern. Having more body fat allows your body to create more of the hormones that make terminal hairs grow. And all women, thin or curvy, make more of the hair-growth hormone as they get older, which can increase facial hair growth.

Rarely, large amounts of facial-hair growth (for example, a "beard" and "moustache" type appearance) may signal an illness that is changing your hormones. If you've noticed a significant change in your facial hair or your hair growth seems excessive to you, talk to a doctor that you're comfortable with. Her job is to help so don't be shy! She will make sure you get treatment if there is a problem. And most of the time, she'll be able to reassure you that the hair growth you're experiencing is normal.

It might be normal, but I still don't like it!

What makes facial hair "unwanted" depends on the woman. Some women feel perfectly comfortable with visible hairs on the upper lip, where others will find very bothersome. Only you know whether it makes you uncomfortable with your appearance!

If it does bother you, though, and you're tired of plucking, waxing or bleaching, you may want to consider the option of a medication that actually reduces the amount your facial hair grows.

Vaniqa Cream

Vaniqa is a prescription topical medication, a cream that you put on the skin that has the annoying hairs. Vaniqa's active ingredient (eflornithine HCl) actually slows the growth of hairs.

Vaniqa doesn't remove hairs completely. So if you've been tweezing or waxing, you may occasionally continue to do so. But you'll notice that you have to remove hairs less often or find that with fewer hairs growing at any one time, their appearance does not bother you as much.

Best of all, Vaniqa has very few side effects: rarely, a few women feel stinging, burning or see a rash where they've applied the cream. And in studies of the drugs, the women who did have side effects felt that they were so mild that they continued using Vaniqa. If you have side-effects, stop using the cream till you've talked with your doctor.

World, Here I Come!

As you use Vaniqa you'll notice the reduced appearance of facial hair and you'll spend less time removing the hair that appears. You'll have more time to do the things that the beautiful-you wants to do - shopping, flirting with your husband, working, and being more confident every step of the way!

The Ultimate Beauty Tip: Good Posture

When you think of projecting a professional image, do you consider your posture? Most people don't think of it, but the way we stand, sit, and move affects just how professional we look. So, if we take the time to wear the clothing that best suits us, get the most flattering hairstyle and perfect our makeup, then it would make sense that we wouldn't want to ruin our look by having poor posture. And that's what poor posture will do ? it will ruin an otherwise professional look.

There are other advantages to having good posture:

1.Good posture will boost self-confidence. Try this: take a deep breath and stand straight. Do you feel better? More confident?

2.Good posture opens your diaphragm making your voice sound better.

3.It improves your health by allowing your organs to function more easily.

4.It also makes you look slimmer, younger and your clothes look better.

To know if you have good posture stand sideways in front of a full-length mirror and stand as you do naturally. Is your:

*Neck straight

*Shoulders square

*Tummy in

*Feet pointing forward

Or do you have:

* Slopped shoulders

* Drooping bust

* Chest caved in

To achieve good posture you must make it a habit by keeping your shoulders back, abdomen pulled in, your head lifted and chin parallel to the ground. This won't be easy if you are not used to it because you will have to build the muscles that keep your body in the correct position. It will take patience and practice. When you make a decision to work on your posture don't expect it to happen overnight but rest assured it will improve and you will see and feel the difference.

The Skin Care Benefits of Azulene

Azulene is a constituent of the volatile oil obtained by steam distillation from Chamomile, Anthemis nobilis (Roman Chamomile), Achillea millefolium (Yarrow), or Tanacetum anuum (Blue tansy), and it is distinguished by it's spectacular blue colour. Azulenes are unsaturated blue hydrocarbons, isomers of naphthalene. Chamomile contains a wide variety of active constituents. Each one of these constituents expresses a specific action but the fascinating holistic effect is the result of all of the components working together. The main constituents in the oil from chamomile are alpha-bisabolol and chamazulene, sesquiterpene derivatives. Other beneficial substances are present as well, primarily apigenin and a number of other flavonoids.

Benefits: In clinical studies Azulenes and bisabolol have been shown to exhibit dramatic anti-inflammatory effects and Chamazulene showed significant antioxidant protection. In practical terms this means that application of these natural substances will help to prevent skin blemishes from developing and will help stop deterioration of skin cells that leads to wrinkles, fine lines and pigmentation.

Quotes: "With a large list of recent basic research accruing, chamomile is a perfect example of a herb having diverse therapeutic uses." "Chamomile preparations are widely used in skin care products to reduce cutaneous inflammation and other dermatological diseases." George Nemecz, Ph.D., U.S.Pharmacist/Herbal Pharmacy

Chamomile soothes, heals, combats inflammation and stimulates cell regeneration. German Chamomile is the variety most widely used in skin treatment; it is rich in a fatty substance called azulene which has extraordinary healing, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory powers.
Hair Styles - How To Get The Most Flattering Hair Style

Do you ever wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and just want to crawl back in bed because of the way your hair looks? We all have bad hair days, but if your bad hair days are turning into bad hair weeks or months, then you might need some help.

Many people look to celebrities to find a new hair style---spending tons of money on all kinds of magazines only to frantically tear thru the pages in search of the perfect hair style.

Then you go to your salon and get that fantastic celebrity hair style only to discover (usually after the first shampoo) that you need to spend about an hour to get it to look the same way.

There are 5 important questions you should ask yourself if you want to get the most flattering hair style that will work for you.

1. How much time you are willing to spend every day fixing your hair? Include hair drying, hair straightening, hair curling, special conditioning, styling, etc. Be realistic about your lifestyle and hair grooming habits. If you don't have the time, don't get a high maintenance hair style.

2. Is your hair in good condition? Don't plan on doing any sort of perms, hair straightening, extensions, bleaching if your hair is damaged or brittle.

3. Do you know what your face shape is? Your face shape is very important for selecting any hair style. What will look great on a square face shape might not look good at all on a round face. See HairResources.com for suggested hair styles for each face shape.

4. Are you generally happy with your hair stylist? Does your hair stylist give you instructions about how to style your hair at home? Do they address all of your concerns about your hair or hair style?

The hair stylist plays a vital role in the way your hair style will look from day to day. Sometimes you can leave the salon looking great--for a day or two. Then it's all downhill after that. You need to get a hair style that YOU can make look great on your own. This can require special instructions from the hair stylist along with specific hair care products.

5. Do you know what hair styles you like and why you like them? If you explain to your stylist what you like about certain features of a hair style--i.e. long side-swept bangs or long layers in the back---the stylist may be able to add some of these features to your hair style even though the entire hair style may not be suited for your hair.
